Dear Colleagues!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we cordially invite you to participateinthe 4th International Symposium «Alien Species in Holarctic – Borok-4», be held in Borok, Yaroslavl   Province, Russia, September 22 – 28,2013.

Three previous symposia on the alien species were held at the I. D. Papanin Institute for the Biology of Inland Waters, Russian Academy of Sciences (Borok) in 2001, 2005and 2010. The 4thSymposium will focus on theoretical and applied issues related to biological invasions of alien species, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere.

·        Role of global climatic and anthropogenic factors in the invasion process

·        Information systems of monitoring of the invasion process. Mathematical modeling of the processes related to invasion of alien species

A "Round Table” will be held within the Symposium frameworks focus ing on the following issues:

·        Methods of studies on biological invasions.

·        Methods of control of alien species

·        Socio-political aspects of the invasion process. International and interregional consolidation of efforts for studies on biological invasions

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Dear Colleagues, if you would like to participate in the Symposium, please submit the registration form on the Symposium site until February 1, 2013. The Organizing Committee has the right to reject the abstracts for presentation at the Symposium. The abstracts will be published prior to the Symposium. The proceedings of the Symposium will be prepared for a special issue of the Russian Journal of Biological Invasions, the English version of the journal is published by MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodika” Pleaides Publishing Inc. and is distributed by Springer publishing house.

Special Session presentation 15 min.

                                             "Roundtable” presentation15 мин.

Fee:

We would appreciate receiving payment by February 1, 2013

Participants of the Symposium from Russia or CIS countries can pay the Symposium fee in Rubles. The participants from foreign countries can pay the fee in US dollars or in Euros

Note: the Symposium fee will cover the expenses for publishing, organization, coffee breaks, and banquet.

 

Symposium Venue and Accommodation:

The Symposium will be held at the Institute of the Biology of Inland Waters, Russian Academy of Sciences, Borok, Yaroslavl Province, Russia (http://www.ibiw.ru). Two options are suggested for accommodation, i.e. in Borok IBIW RAS hotel and/or part-hotel Rybinka (http://www.rybinka.ru)

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The 2nd Circular with notification of participants, guide for authors and registration, accommodation, excursions details will be sent in March 2013. Abstracts are due to submit until April 1, 2013.
